Worship and Leadership Pastor
Reports To: Senior/Lead Pastor
The Worship and Leadership Pastor- is a key member of the pastoral leadership team, responsible for leading dynamic, theologically rich worship services while building a healthy, multiplying leadership culture across the church. This role combines creative worship leadership with strategic organizational development, focusing on equipping leaders, strengthening small groups, and extending the church’s impact in the community. The ideal candidate is both a passionate worshiper and a gifted developer of people who helps ensure the church’s vision, values, and mission are lived out with excellence and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
Worship Leadership

- Plan, coordinate, and lead engaging, Spirit-led worship services that are theologically sound and aligned with the church’s vision.
- Curate song selections, develop service flow/order of worship, and oversee audio, visual, and production elements to create an excellent worship environment.
- Recruit, train, shepherd, and develop worship team members (musicians, vocalists, tech team) with pastoral care and spiritual formation.
- Continually improve the quality and creativity of weekend services while maintaining biblical faithfulness.
Leadership Development

- Design and implement a comprehensive leadership development pipeline that identifies, equips, and releases mature leaders and future Church Planters.
- Create and lead training programs, cohorts, retreats, and resources that instill the church’s vision, values, and culture.
- Oversee intentional succession planning and the development of emerging leaders at every level of church ministry.
Small Group Ministry

- Build and strengthen a healthy, multiplying small group system that fosters biblical community, discipleship, and spiritual growth.
- Recruit, train, equip, and provide ongoing coaching for small group leaders.
- Develop training resources focused on biblical teaching, group facilitation, discipleship, and group multiplication.
- Monitor group health and implement strategies for growth, care, and sustainability while ensuring new people are effectively integrated into church life.
Pastoral Team Responsibilities
As a member of the pastoral team, this role shares in the collective responsibility to equip the saints for the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:12), providing spiritual care, teaching, occasional preaching, and leadership as needed to advance the overall mission of the church.
Biblical Qualifications as an Elder
This is a pastoral/elder role. The candidate must meet the character and leadership qualifications of an elder as set forth in Scripture:

- Above reproach, blameless in reputation
- The husband of one wife (one-woman man), temperate, self-controlled, and respectable
- Hospitable, able to teach, and not given to drunkenness
- Gentle, not violent or quarrelsome, not a lover of money
- Manages his own household well, with children who respect and obey him (if applicable)
- Not a recent convert, but mature in the faith
- A good reputation with outsiders
- Holds firm to the trustworthy word as taught, able to exhort in sound doctrine and rebuke those who contradict it (Titus 1:9)
Additional Qualifications

- Calling & Character: A clear sense of calling to pastoral ministry with a passionate, authentic walk with Christ. Must demonstrate integrity, humility, teachability, and a shepherd’s heart.
- Worship Experience: Proven experience leading worship in a church setting (minimum 3–5 years preferred). Strong musical gifting — proficient on guitar or piano, strong vocal ability, and experience leading a band/tech team.
- Leadership & Development: Demonstrated success in developing leaders, building teams, and creating sustainable ministry systems. Experience with small group ministry and leadership pipelines is highly desired.

- Proficient with common worship/production software.
- Strong organizational and strategic planning abilities.
- Ability to recruit, train, and pastor volunteers effectively.

This person will need to have a heart to raise up and send leaders to the mission near and globally.
