At FBC Skiatook we believe we are not only called to “gather and worship” as a family, but also to “go and share” the Gospel to “the uttermost part of the earth” (Acts 1:8). To that end, we stay involved in missions beyond our walls through a variety of partnerships and ministries. We identify our local mission field as the City of Skiatook and surrounding area. We recognize there are hundreds of our neighbors who need to know and experience the grace of Jesus Christ. Rather than simply inviting them to visit our church, our focus is to go to them with the Gospel. In some cases, we partner with those who are already having an impact by supporting their work financially and providing volunteers to serve alongside them. Listed below are the ministries and the ministry partnerships we are developing to serve the world with the Gospel of Jesus.
As a local church we reach out to our community through Mission Skiatook Projects, our support of local indigent needs through our clothes closet, holiday angel tree and support of local school assistance projects. Additionally we assist individuals, families and the community financially or tangibly in times of need or crisis.
Through our partnership with the BGCO we have established a church planting ministry with Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico, with teams from our local church visiting Taxco 4-6 times per year. Additionally, our church helps a number of our church members who are involved in individual mission trips annually across the nation and around the world.
In recent years we have had members who have gone to Russia, China, the Amazon Basin, South Africa, Colombia, Italy, Belize, Malawi, Latvia, and more.
